On January 30th, 2013, I changed my life forever. This was the date when I registered The Broke Backpacker domain and started working on my dream: a travel blog that was pretty different from the rest. One that catered to the broke, the adventurous and the ones willing to be uncomfortable! I spent several years travelling the world on $10 a day, and over time, The Broke Backpacker grew beyond my wildest dreams. Since then, I've travelled a LOT whilst also growing and experimenting as an entrepreneur; I have launched 30+ ventures, and whilst a couple of these were successful, perhaps the true value is in the many failures - because this is where I learnt some valuable lessons. Over the last couple of weeks, I've put to paper to reflect on my journey and the twelve most important lessons I've learned. This post is hands down the best thing I've written for a couple of years, so if you are interested in building an online income or developing as a person (whilst learning from my mistakes so you can avoid the same pitfalls) then smash that big red button below and read the post.
In this post, I'll teach you all about the guiding principles that I developed and used over the years to get me to where I am today. To say that I've failed a lot is a gigantic understatement. It's just part of the journey and something you must learn how to deal with. I really feel I have a lot of value from my failures, and my victories, to share with those interested in building an online income or living a more meaningful life. It was a pleasure to put this post together so I hope it's of value to one person - mayhap you, Reader. I have pretty much made a career out of being uncomfortable, and I've been through a lot over the past 12 years. My ultimate goal with this post is that you can use it as a tool to support you on your own journey :)
For all of you who have been reading and following for a long time, thank you. For all of you who just got here and are tagging along for the ride, thank you too. The Broke Backpacker would not exist without its readers, so I truly appreciate you being here. Let me know if any of the 12 lessons resonated with you deeply - I'm always just an email reply away. Catch you on the flip side. |
