But it’s not only the landscapes that stole her heart. It’s the people. The culture. The food. Homestays are scattered along the trails, run by families who have lived in the mountains for generations. You’ll arrive exhausted, muddy, hungry - then suddenly, minutes later, you’re sitting at a wooden table with homemade bread, fresh cheese, tomatoes from the garden and a glass of raki in your hand strong enough to knock out a small horse.
