Pakistan is a country that will often have people raising their eyebrows. It's one of those places that is still largely misrepresented in Western media, which ends up creating division in the travel community. Real adventurers like you and me, though, we know what's good. I've been fortunate to have visited Pakistan countless times myself. This is probably not the first time you hear me rave about it either... And in one of my trips there, I met Samantha, an epic adventurer who later became a resident writer here at The Broke Backpacker. Samantha, too, fell in love when she visited Pakistan. So much so that she moved there and has been living in the beautiful mountains of the Hunza Valley for the past 5 years already. Samantha knows Pakistan. Samantha understands Pakistan. So I challenged her to write a piece on the best things a traveller can do when visiting the country. Can you think of someone better to point you in the right direction? 😉
Before you head out, though...Make sure you leave enough room to go with the flow. It's easy to fall into the trap of overplanning a trip, especially in countries where travel may not seem as easy or straightforward. But Pakistan is one of those places that can really take you by surprise. In the best ways possible. You just need to surrender to its magic and let it happen. The only real danger with travel in Pakistan, honestly, is not wanting to leave. But I'll let Samantha tell you about it.
