Have you ever been snorkelling and thought, this is pretty cool, eh? Well... scuba diving might ruin that for you. That's what happened to Taya on her first dive. All it took was one go, and she realised she'd basically unlocked a whole new side quest.
Since then, she's gone on to log 50+ dives across Southeast Asia, and learned that diving around there isn't quite as simple as finding the cheapest course and jumping in. Some places are cheap and beginner-friendly, others are bucket-list level, but there are a lot of factors to consider. You've got seasons, visibility, currents, crowds and the not-so-small matter of trying not to blow your entire backpacker budget.
