Quick version: we built a free tool called HostelWatch to help you find a place to sleep when your hostel pick is sold out. Tell it which hostel you want and which dates, and it emails you the moment a bed frees up. It only takes about 30 seconds.
After more than a decade reviewing hostels, we've learned one thing: backpackers are flaky. They’ll plan, plan, plan, just to change everything last-minute. They change their mind, meet someone, or hear about a new, tantalising idea… and such is the travel life! That means hostel availability is constantly changing. Every time someone changes their route, misses a flight or extends their trip elsewhere, a bed quietly pops back onto the booking sites. These openings can disappear just as quickly as they appear, so unless you’re constantly refreshing the hostel booking page, you'll probably never know they were there. We figured there had to be another way. And what do ya know! There is one, because we built it ourselves. And no, this isn’t one of those “flights are cheaper if you book at 2h39 AM on a Tuesday” kind of travel hack. This is the real deal.
