Volcano Climbing in Indonesia ๐ŸŒ‹

Have you ever climbed a volcano, Reader?

This is something us Broke Backpackers like to do whilst travelling. Hiking up steaming craters, pushing our bodies and minds and topping everything off with an epic sunrise up the top.

You know, our team is comprised of a bunch of daredevil adventurers who, amongst other things, do like to go up a volcano or two!

And one of such designated legends recently hauled themselves up Mount Rinjani - Indonesiaโ€™s second-highest volcano and one hell of a hike.

This is the story they came back to tell.

Mt. Rinjani and Its Surroundings ๐ŸŒ‹

Rinjaniโ€™s just one peak in Indo's epic lineup of fiery giants - you should check out our full volcano-hopping hit list if you're into this stuff.

But there's more... because you know where Rinjani sits?

Lombok.

And you know what else is in Lombok?

MORE EPIC SHIT.

A lot of people come to Indonesia simply to visit Bali. They might go on a day tour to Penida or an excursion to see Bromo in Java.

And listen, I get it, I've been living in Indonesia for 7 years. I know it's great ๐Ÿ˜‰

But there is an ongoing discussion to try and decide between Bali and Lombok, and it's not an easy one...

BUT - What Else Is Good in Lombok?

So, so much.

To make it easier for you, we put together the ultimate guide on what to do in Lombok โ€” from the best snorkeling spots to the secret waterfalls to getting wonderfully lost on winding scooter roads.

And also: we need to talk about Lombok's beaches, because they're ridiculous!

Surrounded by incredible mountains, local life and a ton of rice paddy fields, one could easily say they're better than the ones in Bali...

Plus, they're more spread apart, and there's way less people on the island, so you get a bit more peace of mind to yourself.

Further Reading ๐Ÿค“

If Lombok is on your list (before or after reading this email ๐Ÿ˜›), then there are a few pieces you should read first.

If you're booking a trip soon, check out our favourite resources.

I'll see you next week.โ€‹
