Why Uzbekistan Should Be Your Next Trip

Sitting right in the heart of the old Silk Road, Uzbekistan is packed with blue‑tiled mosques, ancient cities, and history that is older than most nations on Earth.

It is a country that has been quietly minding its own business, staying out of the spotlight, for a few thousand years now.

That was until Broke Backpacker legend, Aiden, showed up last month…

This man has been to more countries than most of us have had cold beers - and has likely had more cold beers than most of us too.

So when Aiden says he has some thoughts... Well, we listen.

And in his wise words, he has confirmed that “Uzbekistan is one of the most underrated backpacking destinations on the planet”.

Aiden has kindly delivered us a compilation of his favourite places in Uzbekistan so we can see for ourselves.

Backpacking Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is still relatively new to the backpacking scene.

Unlike Thailand, you won’t find endless blogs and TikToks telling you what to do or where to go. I love places like this, but it does mean planning gets a wee bit tricky.

Luckily though, our backpacking Uzbekistan guide was crafted by a fellow traveller who laid down his roots in this magical country for many moons.

With cheap food, transport and alcohol, a growing budget accommodation scene, and cities with history as old and complex as the likes of Rome and Athens, this country has plenty to offer to adventurers like you and I.

So I invite you to take a closer look. Who knows, it might steer your trip planning in a direction you weren't expecting 😉

Everything you need to know can be found here:

I'll catch you next week for some more travel bizness.

Stay safe.

I know a cool dude when I see one. And the story I'm about to tell you is about a cool ass motherfucker. The kind you don't see very often. If you’re lucky enough to work remotely, you’ve probably had a moment where you bounced around for a bit, half-pretending you weren’t on holiday (at least to your boss, because you were definitely on hol). You felt freer, you felt cooler, and you probably worked with the kind of view that can make anyone jealous. It's the type of experience that makes you...

Ahoy, friends! And Happy New Year :) Every January, we tend to promise ourselves that things will be different. This is usually an opportunity to think about what we want to change, what we want more of in our lives, and what we want to ditch (or at least try). I personally love a bit of reflection, as you may very well know, so I've been doing a lot of it over the past couple of weeks. A lot of it boils down to the desire of: More meaning. More connections. More stories worth telling....

2025 has been one of the most amazing years, Reader. But it's been fast, real fast... time has shot on by as I've gallivanted all over, spending time in a dozen countries over 2025. I’ve bounced between Canada, England, Slovenia, America, Mexico, Croatia, Montenegro, Cyprus and several other places I can't quite remember. I hit up three weddings and several reunions in Europe, spoke at TBEX (a travel blogging conference) about how I made a few $$$$$$$ over the last few years, and perfected my...
