At some point in your travels, you will embarrass yourself so thoroughly that the only reasonable response is to laugh.

The Broke Backpacker team has done it all: a naked walk of shame in the Colombian jungle, an oat milk bath in the heart of London, emergency pooing behind a truck in one of the most conservative countries in the world...

The list goes on and on 😬

We've ALL made a fool out of ourselves whilst travelling. At least once.

I know I have my fair share of embarrassing travel stories, and I love them.

Quite honestly, they might just be some of my favourite memories from the road (with the gift of hindsight).

Because these moments of awkwardness teach us that we should always try and laugh it out a little bit more. Even if that means laughing at our self-conscious selves sometimes...

Part of the art of backpacking is learning from the mistakes you will inevitably make.

How else would you come back with stories of how stupid you’ve been!? Cause that's what your friends wanna hear about!

That and about all the beautiful places you've seen, the lovely faces you've met, and the hard lessons you've learned.
